On Friday, August 16, the primary school students flew kites in Nehru Park. Two fourth-graders had already explained the significance of Independence Day and the tradition of flying kites at school. Before the excursion, all the children were given small kites to fly at home. Despite the heat, the children tried to fly their kites with the help of the school staff. One child had to hold the string while the other held the kite. The wind was on our side and soon the first kites could be seen in the air. Afterwards, the children played in the playground. It was a very nice day.
Back at school, the children also wrote down their impressions:
“When we arrived at the park, we played on the stones. We had to wait until all the strings were tied. The teachers and school staff helped us to fly the kites. We took a photo at the end. Everyone had a lot of fun!” (Tiara, Marie, Ines)
