On November 22, 2024, the primary school embarked on an exciting field trip to the studio of artist Manveer Singh, also known as PlasticValla, in Chattarpur, as part of their project "Upcycling in New Delhi: Turning Old into New – Creative Ideas for Our Waste." Manveer Singh is dedicated to the art of upcycling, transforming waste from New Delhi and other locations in India into impressive works of art.
The students had the wonderful opportunity to participate in a hands-on workshop where they crafted a turtle from plastic waste. This educational experience not only stimulated creativity but also opened important perspectives on environmental protection and sustainability.
Additionally, the children were allowed to peek into Manveer’s studio and admire the numerous artworks that are planned for his upcoming exhibition. Meeting an artist who deeply connects his passion for art with environmental protection was an inspiring experience for the children.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Manveer Singh for this amazing day and the fascinating insights into the world of upcycling. This trip not only fostered the children’s creativity but also raised awareness of the importance of recycling and environmental protection.
