Hi, I'm James from Year 9 and I took part in the DSND and DSB student exchange programme this year. I was very interested in being able to interact with other international students.
In April 2023, we had the opportunity to visit the International German School in Mumbai and stay with the students' families there. This September, our exchange partners from the school in Mumbai finally came to visit us in Delhi. We had prepared a programme for everyone for the weekend.
My exchange partner and I went to the mall with a few other friends, we chatted and strolled through the shops. Afterwards we were very tired and could only watch one more film before we fell into bed. The next morning we first went to India Gate and then to the Humayun Tomb. We had prepared an exciting but quite difficult scavenger hunt there, which took us through the history of the place. By now it had become quite hot, so the picnic in the shade of the trees at Sunder Nursery was just right. Our last stop of the day was the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara, a Sikh temple. It was beautiful! There we had to wear a head covering and walked barefoot. Some of us dared to drink holy water. We then spent the evening cosily with our families, playing games, eating fondue and having great conversations.
The next day we had to say goodbye again at school, "See you again" and "I'll write to you!" we shouted to our guests as we boarded the bus to the airport.
It was an interesting weekend for us, during which we once again clearly experienced how enriching it is to have an exchange with other schools.
