Last Monday, the kindergarten and preschool children embarked on a very special excursion. Keya had invited them to Kalaan Farm to give her friends an insight into farm life with horses, chickens, and cows. The children were particularly fascinated by the horses. On the farm, the animals enjoy a very good life – they have large grazing areas and, for the hot season, airy stables with fans, all powered by solar energy.
The children had the opportunity to feed the horses their favorite mix of fresh grass, coltsfoot, clover, and other greens. A special highlight was washing a large, majestic horse. With shampoo and scrubbing brushes, the children enthusiastically got to work, and the horse clearly enjoyed the attention.
In the spacious chicken enclosure, the children were allowed to collect eggs to take back for their communal breakfast on Wednesday. Of course, there was also plenty of time for playing and exploring. The freshly prepared lunch was served outdoors and tasted especially good under the open sky.
In the afternoon, it was finally time to return to kindergarten. All the children agreed: It was a wonderful day full of exciting experiences.
