Our maths experts at DSND tackle tricky maths problems – the sort that would make even some maths teachers break out in a sweat – with flying colours. Between October 2025 and February 2026, the first three rounds of this year’s 65th Mathematics Olympiad took place at our school. This is a nationwide competition in which students demonstrate their mathematical skills across several rounds and solve tricky problems.
Taking part were William, Jona, Motheo, Mira, Sukhpal, Platon, Rudy and Amalia. We would particularly like to congratulate those who made it through to the third round: Sukhpal Tacke (Year 5), Rudra Gupta (Year 7), Amalia Mirzalimova (Year 7) and our school winner Mira Hedge Damodar (Year 4).
For Years 3 to 7, participation ended after the third round. But perhaps next year someone will make it to the fourth round in Germany, where the country’s best maths talents come together.
All participants have shown truly outstanding performance – the problems went far beyond the normal classroom level, and often it is a challenge in itself to even understand the problems correctly.
Congratulations to all our maths experts at the DSND!
