The exhibition “Up Close” demonstrates just how much our perception depends on how we look at things. In the series “Through Views”, “Black and White” and the works from the Lodhi Art District, students in class 11 and 12 have deliberately explored unusual perspectives. Photographs taken through openings or of very close-up details make familiar places suddenly seem unfamiliar. Particularly in the black-and-white images, textures, light and shadow come to the fore, revealing things that are otherwise overlooked. In contrast are the colour-rich photographs from the Lodhi Art District, where proximity and new angles bring out the impact of colours and shapes. The photographs were also presented in different sizes and at varying heights, so that viewers had to keep changing their perspective and, in some cases, step right up close. The exhibition makes it clear that even everyday things can change when you look more closely. It invites visitors to question their own perceptions and to look more consciously. The opening was a resounding success and was met with great enthusiasm by visitors.
