From October 4th to 15th we were in the kindergarten in a project phase on the subject of India. Project phase in kindergarten means that all kindergarten children, from the very young to the older ones, deal very intensively with a topic for a certain period of time. The India Weeks help the children to gain a better insight into the special culture of our host country. This year, in addition to stories from the Ramayana about Dushera and Diwali, the focus was on various handicraft techniques.
In the joint morning circles, there were demonstrations of various handicraft techniques, songs, yoga, Indian dance and exciting stories to get in the mood for the respective topic of the day. The children then tried out these techniques with great skill and creativity. We were also able to take three trips during the project period, to the Dilli Haat handicraft market, to the Qutab Minar and to the Sunder Nursery Park. All in all an exciting time, which ended on Saturday, October 15th with a kindergarten family get together.
