Using the example of Saint Martin, we spoke with the children in kindergarten about how we can help others, especially children in need. From these discussions, the idea of a toy swap market was born. Children were invited to bring toys they no longer needed and make them available for exchange. In addition, there was an opportunity to donate for a good cause, depending on the toy exchanged.
As part of their art lessons, the preschool children also created a large collaborative artwork, which was later offered for auction. Through the toy swap market and the auction, a very pleasing amount of money was raised. Together with the children, it was decided to use the proceeds to bring joy to orphaned children.
Just in time for the Christmas season, the children lovingly prepared gift packages for 25 children from the Mother Teresa Orphanage. These gifts were placed under the Christmas tree at the orphanage before the holidays.
Our children were delighted to experience how wonderful it feels to bring joy to others — an experience that filled them with pride and happiness.
