On Friday, 18 September, our swimmers took part in their first competition of the new school year. Three schools and an Indian selection team came together at AES for an exciting swimming event.
Coach Marco had prepared our swimmers really well – and it showed from the very beginning. Our swimmers held their own in all the races and even made it to the top several times, with a few wins and some strong second-place finishes.
But it wasn’t just in the pool that our team showed what it is made of. Outside the pool, it was clear how much the team has already grown together. There was plenty of cheering, encouragement and excitement – and, of course, some comforting when things didn’t go our way.
That’s exactly how we want to experience sport at DSND: training hard, giving it our all in competition, supporting each other as a team and celebrating our successes together. But just as important is recognising the achievements of others and treating everyone with fairness and respect.
A great start to the new swimming season – and a team that is clearly ready for more!
