On December 6th, right on time for St. Nicholas Day, we had a very special guest at our kindergarten: St. Nicholas himself!
Dressed in his red cloak, with a long white beard and a mitre on his head, he looked truly impressive. The children quickly realized that he was a very kind St. Nicholas, who clearly enjoyed the songs they had specially practiced for him.
With great interest, St. Nicholas answered the children’s curious questions. One particularly exciting question was: “How do you manage to deliver presents all over the world at the same time?”
Of course, St. Nicholas didn’t come empty-handed: each child received a lovingly prepared little bag filled with apples, oranges, nuts, and chocolate.
To say goodbye, the children expressed their gratitude with music and cheerful singing before St. Nicholas had to continue his journey – after all, many other children around the world were waiting for him.
