What is a monk? What does he have to consider? Does he live alone? Why does he choose such a path?

These and similar questions could be discussed and answered with the Dominican Father Lucas, as he was open-minded to meet with the religion course of grades 8 and 9.

His gown, also called habit, (a white robe), was somewhat irritating, because some religious orders openly profess their faith.

He himself has experienced an interesting vocation and is now in the final phase of training, where he is beginning his chaplaincy in India and Thailand, conducting services and getting to know Dominican communities around the world.

So he gave many services in St. Dominik, a parish in Vasant Vihar, and was very

amazed at the devotion of the Indian believers,. He alos held a service in the

German-speaking Emmaus congregation here in Delhi.

Originally, after graduating from high school he participated in a missionary experience in Bolivia (Missionar auf Zeit), which had a significant influence on him and which he also shared with the teacher, Mr. Mösinger, who had invited him: a voluntary social year

in the church in Latin America on behalf of a religious order.

The main motto of this experience is: live together, pray together, work together.

In this respect, the students were also shown an interesting perspective of what they can experience after leaving school.

Also a piece of Fr. Lucas' life story and his spiritual orientation and experience has been transmitted to the students:

After the year in Bolivia he studied theology and worked for the religious communities in the Office of the German President. There at Bellevue Castle in Berlin, he has advised seven German presidents on religious issues. A few years ago, after an intense spiritual experience in a spiritual retreat, he decided to join the Dominican Order.

His spiritual ability and his enthusiasm for the inner path  he showed to the students through a meditation led by him.

We wish the Father the best on his life's journey and are grateful for his visit and the meditation session he gave us.
