Last week, the network meeting of the German schools abroad in the Asia region took place. In my role as principal, I had the privilege of attending this historic conference – accompanied by Erik Illig, Chair of the School Association Board, and our Head of Administration, Anja Shivhare. For the first time, all stakeholders of the schools in this region came together for a joint exchange.
The importance of this meeting was further highlighted by the presence of three representatives from the Central Agency for Schools Abroad (ZfA). Mr Dicke, Deputy Head of the ZfA, Mr Hinxlage, Regional Representative for our school, and Mr Pahl, responsible for financial cooperation, were available for advisory discussions.
In times of increasing financial uncertainty, such an exchange is particularly valuable, as it offers the opportunity to jointly discuss strategies for financing our schools.
During the two and a half days we spent together, we discussed best-practice examples in various groups and returned with many good ideas.
We look forward to meeting again in two years.
