Christmas Market

The experienced team consisting of Verena Leuschner and Sandra Schatz, who chair the DSND parents council, once again put on a superlative event this year with the great support of the teachers, parents, staff and students of the DSND and the Swiss Embassy. The doors of the Swiss Embassy opened on Saturday, December 2, 2023 and the stream of visitors simply wouldn't stop for two days. As always, there were waffles and mulled wine as well as countless stalls with various delicacies. The concept of focusing on craftsmanship and a platform of products made in NGOs worked again and the majority of visitors went home with full bags. As every year, the Christmas sweets flown in from Germany sold like hot cakes and the mental arithmetic skills of many volunteers were put to the test under extreme conditions. We were also able to enjoy a performance by the primary school and kindergarten choir under the direction of Ms. Demeyere and a Bollywood dance performance by some DSND teachers. Finally, I would like to say that this Christmas market would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of Ms. Leuschner and Ms. Schatz. On behalf of the school community, we would like to thank both ladies, as well as the many other volunteers, and look forward to next year!!!!
