For one week at the end of May, everything revolved around reading. In the elementary school's internal "Week of the Book," there were various activities revolving around literature and reading. In addition to exciting stories, the students also discovered the joy of reading. The activities strengthen self-confidence, promote social and linguistic competence and encourage the children to further develop their reading skills.
All elementary school children presented their favorite book to their classes with a poster. These book tips were displayed in the hallway of the elementary school to encourage everyone else to read as well.
The children of grade 3/4 worked in teams to prepare a small project on a popular children's book, advertised their project and carried it out with the first and second graders. Everyone had a lot of fun!
The highlight of the week was the traditional reading competition for grades 1 to 5. The preliminary decisions were made within each class. The two class winners read their practiced and one unknown text to the jury, the excited children, teachers and parents.  The announcement of the winners was eagerly awaited. It was a difficult decision for the judges. Did one of them perhaps read a little louder and more clearly? Or were there small slips of the tongue when the untrained text was read aloud? Who emphasized the text more expressively? All this had to be considered and critically assessed. Of course, everyone received a bookmark and a certificate. The winners also received a book voucher.
Congratulations for the first prize goes to Niramaya, Caspar, Annabel, Katharina und Thomas und Eliza. The second place goes to Danielle, Tiara, Aman and Kieran.
